Time Passes . . . . Scrapbook layout

This was my competition layout piece which I made for Convention.

The fence and the gate are comprised of 49 pieces of cardstock, inked distressed and ink edged, interwoven and with 3D foam tape between to make it dimensional. The grass is hand it with scissors, the flowers are cut using the CTMH Art Philosophy Cricut cartridge. The Daffodil leave are free hand cut and the clock time is set to 11.11 my dads time. The camera is tucked in the flowers at the bottom.

The gate opens to reveal 2 photos and under the top photo is the journaling.

 The theme was the movie Inside Out and I chose a core memory to scrapbook - 

not necessarily the individual character emotions.

I was absolutely thrilled with the end result (30 hrs to complete) and would not change anything about it.

'Hooray' - Timberline Owl card

Dawn Montagano again was the designer of this card which I altered a little to suit my style.

I added 3 rows of Chocolate Woodgrain Washi Tape over the Chevron Embossed background and the gorgeous Woodgrain paper from the Timberline paper.

The scolloped circle is from the CTMH Cricut Art Philosophy cartridge - I then pieced tiny holes around the edge.

Here we just used the word Hooray - on a thin piece of cardstock.

Honey Triangle Washi Tape and Silver Metallic Washi tape add a fun accent to the 

bottom right hand side of the card - along with a flower image embellishment from the Lollydoodle Assortment.

Balloon Ride WOTG Card - class project - Cricut Art Philosophy.

I do like to make cards which have a different opening method.

This one opens like a matchbook.

I used the stamp set from the Balloon Ride WOTG and stamped the large image in Sorbet ink.

I stamped the 'Stamps' in Cashmere and Crystal Blue inks and the scroll image on the Saddle cardstock in Saddle Ink.

Bronze shimmer trim adds sparkle to the bottom of the card and then I have used some retired

Chocolate flower buttons with s Brow Sparkle in the center to add a little more accent to it.

Laughing Lola Love Wall Hanging - Extravaganza 2013

I seriously love this piece of artwork which I made for Extravaganza last year. 

The photos were taken by the seriously talented Jennifer Cashin from JLCashin Photography 

I think this is the last piece that I haven't shown you and I apologize it if is somewhere else on here.

I used the Dimensional Element Mini Album pages which are Cricut Artise Cartridge compatible.

Here I added photos directly to 3 pieces using Liquid Glass then carefully cut around them and sanded the edges till they were smooth again.

I decorated the top and bottom pieces with the Laughing Lola Paper and matching 

Dinemsional Elements.

I made flowers using the Cricut Art Philosophy cartridge and added sparkles to the centers of them.

I colored our Color Ready ribbon with Gypsy ink to get a soft Lavender color and added the 

wooden swirls from the Mini Medley collection.

The words were stamped using the new E1027 Framework Alphabet and then cut out - yes it took a little time but so worth it.

These I layered on Black Glitter Cardstock which was in turn layered onto another larger Dimensional Element.

Lots of Prisma Glitter finished it off and I LOVE IT :O)

Ariana Card.

Oh I was so very happy with this card - I based it on the scrapbook layout shown on 

page 30 of the Spring/Summer 2014 Idea Book. 

I loved the layered paper technique on the layout so decided to do the same thing on the card.

I cut the scalloped the circle and the smaller circles using the Cricut Art Philosophy cartridge.

The words are from the Perfect Fit - Thanksgiving stamp set. 

I know it is hard to see but I have used the decorative tail of the turkey image to stamp 

along the bottom edge of the card in Buttercup ink - and again underneath the 

words on the small circle. 

(I hope you can zoom in and see it if the image is larger)

As the paper is so decorative and the scalloped edge of the Outdoor Denim piece and 

Scallop circle give even more design I have kept the embellishments to a minimum 

and just added 3 sparkles for a little shine.

Ballon Talk - Stamp of the Month

This is the fun Stamp of the Month card which we will be making at this months class.

The White Daisy cardstock is embossed using the new CTMH Dot Embossing Folder.

It also features the Washi Tape which we will add to white cardstock to 

make the colors really vibrant.

I have cut the flowers at 3 different sizes - 3/4", 1", and 1 1/4".

I have joined them together with a White brad. 

A piece of Burlap ribbon is attached underneath the flower.

We will direct-to-cardstock ink distress the Lagoon cardstock in the matching ink.

Sweet Moments Mini Album in a Box

 I am sad not to be able to get any more of the My Creations Recipe Boxes -I used them for so many things - should have stockpiled them LOL. I chose the check paper from the Laughing Lola paper pack as this - along with the gold patterned paper made me think of picnic baskets.

For this project I turned the box on its side so that and then used the Laughing Lola Dimensional Elements along with paper flowers cut with the CTMH Cricut Art Philosophy cartridge and the flourish from the Wooden Mini Medley and Burlap Ribbon to decorate the lid.

 Inside I made a concertina style mini album from lengths of 4x6 black cardstock and then glued the flip flaps to the back - I think it is easier to see what I mean from the photos than trying to describe it lol.

 On some of the sections I used either the Wishes or Originals card confidence programs and chose card designs to decorate these areas.

Follow your heart corner bookmark

Here is a quick and easy project which will take you just a little while to complete and is so stinking cute :O)

I used a couple of the larger Laughing Lola Dimensional Elements and added flowers cut using the CTMH Cricut Art Philosophy cartridge. Pink sparkles in the center added more bling. I did a a piece of cardstock to the back of it so that it fits over the corner of a page.

I colored the ribbon using the Gypsy ink and a sponge. I added prism glitter to the heart and then a layer of Lqiuid glass to keep it in place and not in your books :O)

A black button from the Black mini medley and a large clear sparkle in the center finished it off.

Made Just For You 'Spa in a box'

This is one of my favorite pieces from teaching my class at Extravaganza last year.

I used the My Creations recipe box as the base.

I took the mask which I had made  using the CTMH Cricut Artbooking cartridge and sponged Gypsy ink onto the Gypsy cardstock to make a patterned background.

 I love the Laughing Lola paper as it has just fun colors in it. I decided to make a 'Spa In A Box" and use all Lavender smelling items in it.

I used the CTMH Cricut Art Philosophy to cut the flowers.

I used D1542 For A Friend to stamp the sentiment on the lid of the box ink Gypsy ink and then stamped the same image onto the My Creations Muslin Bags - this time using Smokey Plum Pigment ink. You have to use the Pigment inks on fabric otherwise the color spreads and you don't get a crisp image.

I used the watercolor pencils to add color to the image on the bags.

I filled them with dried lavender - they smelled lovely :O)

 I bought a bar of Lavender soap and the travel sized bottle of Lavender shower gel and hand lotion and wrapped the paper around them and tied them with the Color Ready Ribbon which I had colored by sponging Gypsy ink until I got the depth of color I wanted.

I was thrilled with the finished result and hope you like it too :O)

Hat-titude Layout

 Once again I used the photos taken by my amazing friend Jennifer Cashin from JLCashin Photography

for this fun layout - which makes me smile. I was laughing so hard at myself - terrified I was going to fall into the water but trying to look elegant LOL :O)

Again I used the CTMH Cricut Artbooking cartridge for the layout design and then added lots of 'Bling' - 

Of Course I did - would you expect anything else ???

 Here are a couple of the close ups of the embellishments clusters. I made paper flowers using the CTMH Cricut Art Philosophy cartridge and added the Base and Bling metal flowers - love them.

I also added the Laughing Lola Dimensional Elements and the pins from the Black Mini Medley.

Cityscape card

I really do like C2563 Cityscapes.

The buildings have really cool 'window' spaces which you could color yellow for more of a night-time look.

I used the Black glitter paper with the CTMH Cricut Artbooking cartridge to make the zebra patterned background.

I colored Rosette ribbon with the Gypsy ink pad but it seemed really dark so I washed the ribbon which left if with this cool dark lavender color which I LOVED :O)

I cut a flower from Crystal Blue cardstock using the CTMH Art Philosophy Cricut cartridge and leaves from Sweet Leaf cardstock.

I added one of the peacock feather shaped Laughing Lola Dimensional Elements and some of the jewels from the Base and Bling sets.

I was really happy with it - hope you like it too  - Love Sara :O)

Cross-Stitch Wishes - January Stamp of the Month

I wasn't sure about the January SOTM when I first saw it - not really my style BUT as you can see from all

of the cards etc that I made with it - it really IS my style :O)

This card is a great way to use scraps of cardstock, I added the Huntington Zipstrip and Bronze Shimmer Trim and added Hollyhock cardstock. Stampin the hearts in Hollyhock and Blush Ink.

I made the swirls using the new Stitch Guide and Mat and the Piercing Tool Kit.

A length of the Slate Polka Dot Ribbon adds shine. 

(Don't forget to order your ribbon - as it retires at the end of Jan14)

 This card below was designed my the talented Carolyn Johnson and then I took the idea and ran with it :O)

I added pieced holes to the scalloped edge (made with the scallop border punch)

I also made holes around the edge of the stamped large heart with the Piercing Tool and stamped the row of hearts on the cardstock. 

 I saw a small wall hanging on another ladies blog and this is my version of it.

The zip strip is from Babycakes and I attached it to a 5" sq Colonial White cardstock base.

I stamped the words in Sunset and the hearts in Sweetleaf.

I used the Color Ready seam binding ribbon to hang it up and added a Whisper cardstock back cust at 5.25"sq. Slate cardstock is the smaller grey square in the middle.

Cricut flowers finished it perfectly.

 Again - I saw the idea for a sympathy card and this is my version of it (I apologise I can't remember the site I saw it on ) I made 3 and just changed out the color of the stamped heart to show you how versatile it is.

A small matching sparkle added some shine and interest. A quick and easy card :O)

 I used Proplayer on this card and added Blush and Pear cardstock to give it a Spring feel

I sponged the Color Ready Seam Binding Ribbon with Pear ink to turn it green.

 Again I saw a card where the lady had used the arrows to make the background - so I followed her lead and then added Laughing Lola paper and cardstock. Black Shimmer Trim and Cricut flowers finished it off.

 Another card using Huntington Paper and Zip strip. I added Hollyhock again to this kit - so easy to do as there are all neutral colors in this kit - and Bronze Shimmer Trim.

Again I used the Stitch Guide, mat and Piercing Tool kits to add the fun swirls.

 As you probably know I am a great one for cutting my stamps up - either with scissors or with a craft knife. Yes you can do this too - just be very very careful not to cut in to the image.

There is no returning them to CTMH if you have altered your stamps in any way :O)

Anyway I took my Exacto knife and carefully cut around the works in the 'Sew Special' stamp and then I was able to stamp just the cross stitch rectangular border. I then stamped the small hearts in Blush and Sweetleaf to give the impression of a quilt.

 And last but not least here I have turned the hearts into flowers - Desert Sand and Lagoon go together so well - more scalloped boarders and Sparkles and Shimmer Trim add Bling :O)

Family Mini Album in a Bag

Here is another project which I submitted for Extravaganza 2013.

The base is the My Creations 6x6 Memory Showcase album.

I made the handles and the sides from Burlap Ribbon. and featured the Chantilly paper pack.

The flowers and leaves were cut using the CTMH Art Philosophy Cricut cartridge and as usual I used the Bonding Memories Glue pen and Prisma Glitter to make the flowers sparkle.

I used a Dimensional Element Heart and inked it with Desert Sand ink. I then rubbed a layer of Create a shade pearl paint over the ink and when it was dry then stamped the word LOVE from my absolutely favorite set D1482 Love Life.

I think added a layer of Liquid Glass to make it shiny. I did exactly the same process on the tiny wooden bird and used Crystal Blue ink before the paint and Liquid Glass.

I pleated the Chantilly Fabric and also added the key from the Brocade Assortment.

I also added a wooded flourish from the Wooden Mini medley which had the same treatment as the wooden bird and cut another flourish with the Cricut cartridge from the Twilight cardstock

Inside the Bag I added a collection of mini albums made from 8x5.5 cardstock bases which I folded in half to make 4x5.5 mini books.

Here I used the Cork alphabet which I added more liquid glass to and used the piercing tool to decorate the edge of the scalloped cardstock.

Here is a close up of the Dimensional Element Heart - I covered it with paper - then Prisma glitter and tucked a pleated piece of Chantilly fabric behind it.

I added Clear Sparkles to the paper at the bottom of the paper.

Here I just folded a length of Chantilly fabric and attached it at the back with liquid glass.

This little heart was inked and then I added a layer of Liquid glass and then dipped it into the Prisma Glitter.

On this lager heart I added the Chantilly paper and then a Clear Sparkle and then a layer of Liquid Glass.

This heart had the fabric attached to it - then a Sparkle and then Liquid Glass :O)

Be still and know that I am God Prayer Box

Here is another of my Extravaganza 2013 artwork submission pieces and again I had an idea in my head and it worked out exactly as I wanted it to. 

I created this to put small prayers in it - something that I could just dip in and pull out a prayer for the day.

You would be proud of me I actually mixed 2 paper packs together which for those of you who know me well - know that that is WAAYYYY out of my comfort zone lol.

I used the CTMH My Creations Kraft Container along with the Chantilly and For Always paper packs. 

I started by rubbing a thin layer of Create a Shade Pearl paint to the container and lid to give it a shimmer.

 I made many flowers cut from 1" through to 2" and all the sizes in between from the Chantilly paper and added Clear Sparkles to the centers. I cut the leaves at 1/2" from the Sweetleaf cardstock - all of these images are found on the CTMH Art Philosophy Cricut Cartridge.

I used the Silver Shimmer Trim on both the lid and main body of the container.

I gathered the Black tulle ribbon with black waxy flax to give it the 'Tutu" feel.

Here is a close up of some of the flowers  and leaves. I used the glue pen and Prisma Glitter to add more sparkle to the project.

 I also added the Small Sparkle Clear Flourishes on the container for even more 'Bling'

 So there you have it - a sparkley, shimmery, flowery container which I absolutely love - hope you do too :O)
